VANCOUVER, B.C. – Today, an exciting partnership was celebrated as the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant produced by Fairchild Media Group announced the BC Cancer Foundation as its benefiting partner for 2019.

“We are honoured to be the benefiting charity of such a unique event that will benefit thousands in our community,” said Sarah Roth, president and CEO, BC Cancer Foundation. “This partnership will allow BC Cancer to continue to provide world-class care and build more hope for the more than 27,000 patients diagnosed with cancer in our province each year.”

All proceeds from the Gala Dinner portion of the event will go towards bringing a brand new piece of surface-guided radiation equipment to BC Cancer – Vancouver, cutting-edge technology that will change cancer outcomes.

“This piece of equipment will allow BC Cancer clinicians to deliver more targeted treatment, improve patient comfort and reduce the time it takes for patients to undergo treatment,” said Dr. Cheryl Duzenli, medical physics leader, BC Cancer. “Our team is tremendously grateful for this opportunity as it will especially benefit pediatric patients in our community.”

The 2019 Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant and Charity Gala Dinner will be held on Wednesday, December 4th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Celebrating its 25th year, the pageant is a prestigious event that helps young women realize their dreams and talents, and is recognized globally.
