$19.7 million raised for the BC Cancer Agency

I am pleased to present the BC Cancer Foundation’s 2008 Annual Report to Donors. I invite you to read about the Foundation’s past year of fundraising activities, achievements, events and milestones. The report also profiles BC Cancer Agency research advances over the previous year and how your support has made a difference!

The report also provides a financial summary of our revenues and expenses over the past five years. Last year our expenses were 13 per cent. It is very important to us to keep costs as low as possible and for the past five years they have averaged 16 per cent, well within accepted standards for healthcare charities.

As you will read, your support really does make a vital impact to those living with cancer and their loved ones, not only in our province but beyond.

Since joining the Foundation on May 1st, 2008, I have had the opportunity to meet with a variety of donors and I have been extremely inspired and impressed by your generosity and commitment to the BC Cancer Foundation.

I hope that you too will be inspired and informed by the stories within this report as well as the examples of the impact your donations make to the leading-edge research and care conducted by the BC Cancer Agency.
