When cancer is no longer feared

Your donations help the BC Cancer Agency purchase technology and impact care in ways that would not otherwise be possible, such as the recent purchase of a digital mammography machine for breast cancer screening.

Prevention, Prediction, Prognosis and Personalization
The BC Cancer Agency's vision for cancer care is guided by the four P's: Prevention, Prediction, Prognosis and Personalization.

  • Prevention: taking steps to avoid or remove the things we know or suspect cause cancer.
  • Prediction: knowing who will get cancer and their predisposition to it, so we can intervene before they get it.
  • Prognosis: knowing what's going to happen with a patient's cancer in the future.
  • Personalization: determining the treatment that will be successful for a patient, based on what we know about them and their cancer.
