Lifestyles Lottery launches with Grand Prize Showhome at Bear Mountain, Victoria

Vancouver Island residents won three out of four top prizes last year

August 16, 2005, Victoria, B.C - The BC Cancer Foundation announced today the launch of the fifth BC Cancer Foundation Lifestyles Lottery at the Bear Mountain grand prize showcase.

"The BC Cancer Foundation receives tremendous support from Victoria and all over Vancouver Island. In fact last year three out of four top prize winners were from the Island! We are certain residents from all over B.C. will embrace the dream of winning a $1.6 million grand prize showcase located at Bear Mountain Estates and Country Club in Victoria," said Mary McNeil, president & CEO of the BC Cancer Foundation.

This Grand Prize Island showcase includes a show home at Bear Mountain Resort, featuring a stunning 3,900 square foot home with views of the 16th green and the 11th signature island green. The home will be awarded with all the furnishings, professional decorating and landscaping included, plus $10,000 cash.

Beginning August 16, households across B.C. will receive a lottery brochure in the mail with a map to the Bear Mountain home. The home is open for viewing starting Saturday August 20. It will remain open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, the Grand Prize Mainland Showcase is valued at over $2.3 million. It features a fully furnished, professionally decorated and landscaped showhome in the British Properties, West Vancouver. This showcase comes complete with the all-new 2006 BMW 325i plus $25,000 cash. There are 7,874 amazing prizes in total, including exciting vehicles, exotic vacations, weekend getaways and much more.

The BC Cancer Foundation Lifestyles Lottery is expected to raise more than $3 million this year, which will be directed exclusively towards cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency, including the BC Cancer Agency's Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Centre in Victoria.

Only 118,000 tickets are available. Tickets are $100 each or a 3-pack for $250 and can be purchased at the BC Cancer Foundation, the BC Cancer Agency, all retailers listed in the lottery brochure or by calling 1-866-939-5508 anywhere in B.C.
