BC Cancer Foundation launches 3rd Lifestyles Lottery
August 20 , 2003, Vancouver, BC - The BC Cancer Foundation launched the third annual BC Cancer Foundation Lifestyles Lottery at 2:30pm today, at this year's grand prize show home located at 6038 Adera Street in Vancouver.
This fundraising endeavor is projected to raise over $4 million, which will be directed exclusively towards cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency.
"In British Columbia we are lucky to have access to one of the most effective cancer control systems in the world – the BC Cancer Agency, which is responsible for provincial cancer care. Some of the most important advances in cancer care today have arisen from BC Cancer Agency research, funded by the BC Cancer Foundation. With the support of the people in B.C. there are many more discoveries to come," says Mary McNeil, BC Cancer Foundation president & CEO.
The BC Cancer Agency operates cancer research and treatment programs throughout B.C., at regional cancer centres in the Southern Interior, Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island and Vancouver.
"We are thrilled to launch our third annual Lifestyles Lottery," comments McNeil. "Lottery brochures are being delivered to households this week and we encourage everyone to have a look at what is, in our opinion, the most unique, valuable and exciting prize package ever offered."
The Grand Prize, located in one of Vancouver's most prestigious neighborhoods and valued at over $2.8 million, features a spectacular fully furnished, professionally decorated and landscaped mansion with an indoor swimming pool! A 2004 BMW X5 Sport Activity vehicle plus $25,000 cash are also included. The Early Bird prize, a Waterfront condominium on the shores of Lake Okanagan in Kelowna, includes a 2004 Sea Ray bow rider sport boat (Wakeboard edition).
