Mona Strealeff

Mona Strelaeff and her family are enthusiastic supporters of the BC Cancer Foundation – their support ranges form walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer to organizing special events and being committed Leadership Circle donors.

Mona has also made a legacy gift to the BC Cancer Foundation. Through a bequest in her Will, Mona will make a generous gift to the BC Cancer Foundation while also leaving a legacy to her children and grandchildren. Mona sees it as a logical continuation of her family’s commitment to give back to the community. Mona also sees it as her chance to make a large gift that is, in her own words, “big enough to make an impact on cancer research.”

For Mona, the fact that cancer doctors, researchers and the BC Cancer Foundation staff all work under the same roof—the Vancouver Island Centre—reinforce her commitment to give to cancer research through the BC Cancer Foundation. Mona says, “it builds a bit more trust because you see where your money is going”. Perhaps more importantly to Mona, visiting to the BC Cancer Agency’s Vancouver Island Centre does not raise any trepidation. Perhaps this is partly attributable to the fact that on Thursday’s she attends relaxation sessions that she finds extremely helpful. Mona says, “I go to the Vancouver Island Centre and I am comfortable there.”
