Supporting Care and Research

Donations to the BC Cancer Foundation provide important contributions solely to the BC Cancer Agency. These funds are used primarily for research breakthroughs which lead to better care and to the newest and most innovative treatments being available to residents in the South Fraser region. Donations also provide and support important enhancements to care and treatment.uch as lifestyle changes, medicines, vitamins or supplements which scientists believe may lower the risk of developing a certain type of cancer. They may examine ways to prevent cancer for those who have never had it or for those who have had a cancer previously and are at risk for another.

How You Can Help
Your support means so much to the many cancer patients who received treatment and care at the Fraser Valley Centre and one of the best ways to help is through a financial donation.  You can direct your gift – large or small - to support the priority needs at the Fraser Valley Centre; or consider BC Cancer Foundation, Fraser Valley in your estate plans; or join the many businesses, community groups, schools and service clubs who help us by holding a special “third-party” fundraising event. Fundraising with friends, family or coworkers is a great way to support the work of the BC Cancer Foundation.

World-class Care Closer to Home
BC Cancer Agency’s Fraser Valley Centre enhances the agency’s ability to pursue innovation and research to improve patient outcomes in the province. The Fraser Valley Centre is one of five regional centres in Abbotsford, Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria to provide the best cancer care possible for the population of B.C. with the most state-of-the-art equipment available today, and access to clinical trials and research advances.

BC Cancer Agency’s Fraser Valley Centre is linked to a province-wide system of cancer control, which includes a registry to track cancer outcomes and effectiveness of treatments, and provincial tumor groups which establish treatment protocols based on the best evidence available.

The BC Cancer Agency provides a comprehensive cancer control system for the province of BC, which includes prevention, screening, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, supportive and palliative care and research.
