Christopher's Steak & Seafood Restaurant is hosting a Mother's Day fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research.

Glen Mervyn Ride2Survive June 19 & 20, 2010
This will be the 6th anniversary of this gruelling 400 km cycling epic to raise funds to support cancer patients at the BC Cancer Agency, Centre for the Southern Interior, located in Kelowna. A team of cyclists rode from Kelowna to Delta: 15 hrs in total, cover 400km and climb 12,000 ft to support the BC Cancer Foundation and its vision of a world free from cancer.
Time: early hours of the moring on the longest day of the year -- until it was done - 19 hours later!
Start: Mainstreet Community Church, Bernard Avenue, Kelowna

Sindi Hawkins' Education Endowment Fund
Long-standing MLA from Kelowna-Mission, Sindi Hawkins, retired from politics on Thursday, April 2nd 2009. Sindi, however, is continuing her efforts in support of cancer research and patient care. She has asked that those who want to support her work to make a difference for those affected by cancer, make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation's Sindi Hawkins & Friends Education Endowment Fund.

Details: Riders from Kelowna raised well over their goal of $50,000 to purchase new infusion pumps for use by patients of the Cancer Center for the Southern Interior.
