To include a gift to BC Cancer Foundation in your will, please follow these 3 simple steps.

1. Note our correct full legal name and charity number:

2. Optional: Determine whether you would like to designate your gift to a particular purpose or geographic location.
    
3. Choose one of the following sample clauses which you can share with your Legal advisor.

   >> To make a gift to support research and care for all cancers
   
   • “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation.” 
      
   >> To restrict your gift to a particular region
   
   • Abbotsford:
     “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation to be used for a purpose related or of benefit to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.”
   • Fraser Valley:
     “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation to be used for a purpose related or of benefit to BC Cancer Agency, Fraser Valley.”
   • Lower Mainland:
     “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation to be used for a purpose related or of benefit to BC Cancer Agency's Vancouver Centre.”
   • Southern Interior:
     “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation to be used for a purpose related or of benefit to BC Cancer Agency, Southern Interior.”
   • Vancouver & Gulf Islands:
     “I give ___________________ (a portion or all of the residue of the estate or a specific sum) to the BC Cancer Foundation to be used for a purpose related or of benefit to BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Island.
      
   >> To restrict your gift to a specific purpose
   
   • You can control the use of your bequest by including restrictions in your will.  However, because the BC Cancer Agency's needs are subject to change, we recommend that you add a "power to vary" clause to ensure your gift will deliver maximum value.  Please contact us for help in crafting the wording that best reflects your wishes.

Recognition – The Legacy Circle
The BC Cancer Foundation has established the Legacy Circle, a recognition program for generous donors who have included a gift in their will.  To express our sincere appreciation for such a thoughtful and generous gift, the BC Cancer Foundation will recognize Legacy Circle members on our donor recognition walls, in our annual report, as well as in other BC Cancer Foundation publications and public recognition media but only with a donor's consent.
