Download this helpful guide for information about making a gift using life insurance.

You can make a larger gift than you may think possible by naming the BC Cancer Foundation as the beneficiary or as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy.

Step 1: Determine which type of insurance vehicle would best suit your estate plan, depending on whether you need to have immediate or ongoing tax relief or save taxes for your estate.

Step 2: Work with your insurance agent to complete the forms with the correct name and charity number as follows:

Legal name: BC Cancer Foundation
Charitable registration number: 11881 8434 RR0001

Step 3: If you choose to transfer the ownership of an insurance policy to BC Cancer Foundation, provide your insurance agent with contact information for the BC Cancer Foundation so that your agent can obtain the signature of BC Cancer Foundation on the transfer document.

Recognition – The Legacy Circle
Gifts of life insurance can help make a difference in the lives of B.C. cancer patients and their families. To express its appreciation for these gifts, the BC Cancer Foundation has established a donor recognition program called the Legacy Circle . Among other benefits, members of the Legacy Circle are recognized on the BC Cancer Foundation donor recognition walls, in the annual report, as well as in other BC Cancer Foundation publications and public recognition media but only with the donor’s consent. Click here for more information about the Legacy Circle.
