Olympians Line Up For BC Cancer Foundations' Tour de Gastown
At least five members of Canada’s road and track cycling teams for next month’s Olympic Games in Beijing are scheduled to compete in the BC Cancer Foundation’s Tour de Gastown next Wednesday (July 16). They will part of nearly 200 riders who will take to the streets for British Columbia’s premier bicycle race and the centrepiece of the BC Super Week series of bike races.

Vancouver’s high-tech community enters Canary Derby Soapbox Race through Gastown to drive research of early cancer detection
About 700 members of the province’s most prominent high-tech companies were challenged at the B.C. Technology Industry Association’s Technology Impact Awards (TIA) on June 12 to enter an old-fashioned soapbox derby in support of cancer research in B.C. at the BC Cancer Agency.

Technology companies raced soap box cars in Canary Derby bid to drive early detection of cancer with the Canary Project at BC Cancer Agency
Fourteen Vancouver Island technology companies worked around the clock to ensure their soapbox cars were race-ready for the 3rd Annual Victoria Canary Derby Soapbox Race benefiting BC Cancer Foundation. Proceeds will fund the Canary Project for the early detection of cancer, at the BC Cancer Agency’s Vancouver Island Centre, to help purchase two critical pieces of cancer research equipment for use at the Agency’s Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Centre.
