One in three British Columbians can expect to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. It's up to all of us to decrease this odd so that we can get closer to achieving our vision: A WORLD FREE FROM CANCER.
The challenge supports the BC Cancer Foundation Youth In Philantrophy program’s mandate:
- Educate youth about philanthropy and the importance of giving their time and energy for the common good;
- Help youth develop philanthropic behaviour, experience and skills;
- Empower youth to take voluntary action for the common good in their schools, lives and communities.
What is the Challenge?
Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands Middle and Secondary schools are invited to form a school team with representation from a cross-section of grades and organize various fundraising activities to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation during April 2010. Each team is required to appoint a Captain, a Co-Captain and a teacher contact.
The funds raised by participating schools will support breakthrough research in the fight against cancer right here on Vancouver Island.
How do you participate?
